| Dresses for the Quinceanera Court |
| 05.21.09 (2:18 am) [edit] |
Quinceanera is a word which doubles both as the title given to a girl at the age of 15 and the sweet 15 party she has to celebrate. The party is similar to the American sweet 16 party with live music, dancing, gifts, and lots of family and friends in attendance.
My favorite part of a Quinceanera, however, has got to be the quinceañera court. Just like homecoming, this court consists of all of the important players in fabulous outfits. The Quinceañera herself in a fabulous quinceanera gown is the lead of the court, sort of like the queen. Then she has 14 girls known as damas who wear quinceanera damas dresses and 15 boys who dress as chambelanes.
Between the dress styles and the colors, the Quinceanera court makes for a stunning site.
